| The Mass in B
minor, Bach's last completed vocal work and at the same time the height
of his creative, reveals the overwhelming richness of his compositional
skill. In the history of music it assumes the rank of "Montblanc church
music" a (Franz Liszt) - composed in not less than a quarter-century
during the time of Bach as cantor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. At
this important place of activity of the composer drew the Mass in B
minor as a culmination of the Leipzig Bach Festival 2013 listeners in
the spell: Under the direction of Bach's successor Georg Christoph
Biller, the choir and an excellent soloists quintet music together with
the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. |
